As a last minute reminder, the MED has posted newly revised medical and retail rules for public comment. The proposed rules cover a wide range of topics, though the largest changes are related to the following:

  1. Process and qualifications for Permitted Economic Interests (see the 200-series in both medical and retail rules);
  2. Plant counts, including proposals to produce above the previous 10,200 threshold (see R 211, 506);
  3. Testing of industrial hemp by licensed retail laboratories (see the R 700-series); and
  4. Product safety and labeling (see the 600 and 1000-series).

You can see the latest draft of the proposed retail rules HERE, and the medical rules HERE.  Both are updated as of August 26, 2015.

There will be a public hearing to discuss the proposed changes Monday, August 31 starting at 9:00am at 200 East Colfax, Room 220, Denver.  If you wish to comment, you may attend the hearing or send your comment by email to DOR_MEDRuleComments@state.co.us by 5:00pm September 1.
